Cardiovascular research

VIMECON catheters are suited both for in-vivo and in-vitro usage, for example for the fault-free measuring and application of gases and fluids in the smallest amounts or for precise sampling.

VIMECON catheters have a small dead space volume and show virtually no attenuation when measuring pressure.

VIMECON catheters are ideally suited for percutaneous intervention, e.g. via arteries or veins. For minimally invasive surgery you will benefit from the smallest dimensions and maximum performance. The catheters are both flexible and dimensionally stable so that they are easily introduced into the intended surgical area. This means that both the complexity and duration of surgery can be significantly reduced.

Redline Ballooncatheter

Purpose

This catheter is particularly suited for usage with rats, mice and other small rodents. Access can be gained via the arteria carotis and femoralis as well as vena femoralis or jugularis or via vessels of similar size. The catheter is designed for dilatation inside the vessel as well as the application of mini stents and micro stents.
Guide wires for this catheter, which stiffen the catheter over its length, are also available (if required). The catheter is characterised by extremely precise manufacturing and a smooth surface finish.

Blackline Balloncatheter

Purpose

VIMECON balloon catheters are ideally suited for pressure measuring, application and measuring as well as sampling. In the wedged position, selective and semi-selective access to the smallest vessels is possible, e.g. for semi-selective access to coronary arteries of small rodents.

Blackline Singlelumen

Purpose

VIMECON catheters are ideally suited for pressure measuring, application and measuring as well as sampling.
The single-lumen catheters can be combined with guide wires. A guide wire increases the catheter’s stiffness and can determine the shape and direction of the catheter tip so that even difficult anatomical areas can be reached.
Furthermore guide wires increase the radiodensity. The Blackline single-lumen catheter can be used for analogue pressure measuring inside the vessel.
The Blackline catheters are designed for the anatomy of animals with a body weight of 300-1,800 g. They are very durable.

Purpose

VIMECON balloon catheters are ideally suited for pressure measuring, application and measuring as well as sampling. In the wedged position, selective and semi-selective access to the smallest vessels is possible, e.g. for semi-selective access to coronary arteries of small rodents.
The catheter is enhanced in the area from the y-connection to the beginning of the balloon. This way its stiffness is slightly increased so that it can be pushed using more force.

Purpose

Chrome catheters are ideally suited for pressure measuring, application and measuring as well as sampling.
The single-lumen catheters can be combined with guide wires. A guide wire increases the catheter’s stiffness and can determine the shape and direction of the catheter tip so that even difficult anatomical areas can be reached.
Furthermore guide wires increase the radiodensity.
Due to their very small dimensions, single-lumen catheters can be inserted selectively right into the smallest vessels. They can also be used as sluices for inserting further catheters or pressure measuring systems for percutaneous access.

Self-expanding coated stent

Purpose

The stent is made from medical-grade titanium alloys. It is suitable as a research stent for applications in veins, arteries, gall ducts as well as other hollow organs.

Details

The stent is delivered as a device that is integrated into a drop-off system. After the drop-off system has been released, the stent self-expands to its indicated size.
We offer the following coatings as standard:
Sirolimus/Rapamycin or Plaxitaxel
If you would like us to coat the stent with your own materials, we will be pleased to arrange that for you.

Lock 1

Purpose

Due to their smooth surface finish, the lock can easily be placed at its destination even for complex anatomical conditions.
The implemented sluices allow the insertion of further catheters at their destinations through the lock without the need for further imaging and without catheters getting caught in soft vessel walls.

Application example

A lock is placed in the abdominal aorta of a mouse through the arteria femoralis. Here a coated stent is inserted and subsequently dilated using a balloon catheter.

Pump- and Dosing-systems

VIMECON offers doctors, engineers, scientists, buyers and technical assistants a comprehensive range of tube and pump technology and the appropriate accessories for their research work.

Our self-aspirating dosing syringe pump is characterised by its continuous and almost pulsation-free fluid feed properties. With a minimum feed volume of only 80 nl/h up to a maximum feed volume of 3.5 l/h, high-precision dosing of even the smallest volumes is possible.

Controlling is done via the associated PC software, which can be run on all commonly used operating systems.

In order to ensure the purity of the fluids, all parts that are in contact with the media can be dismantled for cleaning and sterilisation (if required).

Apart from consulting our customers, VIMECON produces and sells individual measuring, dosing and feed systems including all necessary connections and tubes.
